Mrs Samantha Downie, Clinical Research Fellow, University of Edinburgh

Sam is an ST6 T&O trainee with the East of Scotland Deanery and is the Chief Investigator for the GOAST study.   

Sam is currently undertaking a PhD with the University of Edinburgh on metastatic bone disease and has published in the BMJ, Lancet and BJJ.  She has been Chief Investigator for a number of multi-centre studies, is a past Chair of the East of Scotland Research Ethics Committee (REC) 2 and is an editor for the UK and Ireland In-Training (UKITE) exam. 

Her research interests include outcome measures, medical informatics and development of data registries.
